Call me young at heart - but I love the month of October and I love Halloween! I love the colors, the night sky and I love that one of my very first online friends and I share the joy of the month! Anni (also known as Wytch in October) send each other mails and real Halloween presents!!!

This week's theme was difficult because, what is "beautiful"?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think nature has an overwhelming
power to surprise us with forms and colors that are truly magnificent.
There is always something new and different every day.

A Winter Day in Copenhagen.

This theme reminds me of that wonderful Joni Mitchell song - Both Sides Now.
Rows and floes of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons ev'rywhere
I've looked at clouds that way
But now they only block the sun
They rain and snow on ev'ryone
So many things I would have done
But clouds got in my way
I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down, and still somehow
It's cloud illusions I recall
I really don't know clouds at all

I live on an island so you don't have to go far to see water. I can even see water from my bedroom window. This picture is one of the many bridges connecting island to island.
We have a little boat and we love to take pictures while out on the water. You could say this is a picture of water under the bridge!

The many uses of language

Do you know anyone who can talk you into a daze?
People who can say things you take literally?
People you're never really sure of what they're saying or what they mean?
If you're nodding your head, then you have been the victim of sarcasm.
I have never mastered the art of irony or sarcasm. I don't often laugh
when others do and I hardly ever see the humor or get the gist! I DO get satire; especially British satire. But sarcasm often seems to be a way putting others down. Easy points, if you know what I mean.
But, ok, it could just be me! Color me dumb!
Below, I've added a little joke my sister sent me.

Saturday Photo Hunt - The Theme is "Funny Signs"

Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen - there IS a town in Denmark called Middelfart. I laughed so hard the first time I saw the town sign, that I almost got lost and made a wrong turn. Middelfart is the last town before the bridge to Jutland! Look it up! Not far from there is a town called ASSens! The anecdote the Danes love to tell, is about the time the British queen came to visit Copenhagen. One of the tour planners noticed that there was a little sign that lit up in all the elevators in the hotel. The sign read: "I fart." Which, in Danish means, "in motion." To solve the problem, they covered all the signs in all the elevators of this hotel until the Royal visit had ended! Can you imagine everyone getting in these elevators and thinking, Wow, this elevator has gas!?

Here we are on one of the many charming streets of Paris. I love the shabbiness of this building.It has life lines like the neck and face of people who have really livedlife. -By the way - I ought to mention that the house number is 13.
