Scavenger Hunt - The Theme is "Flowers"

These are not really flowers but a plant called Hens and Chicks.
(I think...)
They look so much like flowers, that I decided
to use them in the flower theme.
I think they are beautiful, almost like a lotus.

Yes Barbara - they are hens and chicks - I'm almost sure they are purple haze. They're a outdoors border plant.
I took this picture in early April.

You mean these beautiful things are not flowers? They all look beautiful not to be called flowers.

Mine is up too.

G'day Liberty Belle

My dad had these in our garden when I was a kid. He had used them as a flower bed border.

My SPH is up

This was an unusual one for me, never seen it before. Never the less very beautiful - and goes very well with your blog design I think :-)

It's so wonderful with flowers (or plants) because there is such a big variation. The miracle of life.

Hoppas du får en dejlig weekend :-)

They are hens and chicks, but you could also call them "sempervivum". A lot of them actually do bloom. The centre part grows really tall and they get little flowers at the top.

Such beautiful plants. Now I'm jealous. (Seriously, I love sempervivum.)

Aren't they in the catus family? Or am I thinking of something else? They are neat! I saw some at the garden center the other day... they are pretty!
