It's so old now, that I'm sure it is considered antique.
It is truly a work of art and craftmanship.
The whole purse is covered in red and blue beads, with a little
beaded tassle and a chain strap. I don't know where or when she
used it, but I can imagine it is from the 20's or 30's, but I'm not
sure.
Happy weekend all you scavengers!
Hugs

Wow!!! That's just so gorgeous. And a true treasure.
Mine's up early for y'all living in Europe/and or Australia way-ay-ay over the big ponds. :o)
Happy weekend dear lady Liberty Belle!!!
(hey?! Before I go, your grandmother's bag matches your template!!! How cool is that)
Oh wow! I love your beaded purse from Grandma!!! If only it could tell stories of where it's been! My photo is up too, come visit
It's beautiful. I would say 20's or 30's (I'm no expert though). Happy weekend.
That's beautiful! What a lovely gift from your grandmother.
I envy all these people whose grandmothers had occasion to have the little fancy beaded purses. I remember my very first formal event and my dad bought me a little (fake, I'm sure) fur short shoulder cape and an all over white beaded purse. I still have them both... 40 years later. The beaded purse has yellowed a bit over time but the memory remains vivid.
This is a lovely purse and a lovely memory to hold with it.
That is beautiful LB! I was telling "Gattina" - who also has a beaded purse on her blog today, that these are SO back in style here in the U.S.! Many many MANY of the high school girls are now carrying new AND old beaded bags! They are SO cute! I just love them... but alas, I feel they are for the YOUNG generation! What do you think?
If that were made today, I doubt many of us could afford it. I wonder how long it took to do the beading? It's amazing!
It's fun to imagine the stories it might tell. Speakeasys and flappers, formal events and church.
Thank you for sharing.
I really love hand me downs that has a lot of stories that goes with it.
Have a nice weekend!
What a lovely purse, LL! Yes, it definitely looks like something used by a flapper.....(**sings Charleston, Charleston....LOL**)..
Great photo for today's theme.
Mine is up.
Happy Saturday, dear lady!
It's spectacular. You can almost imagine your grandmother all dressed up for an evening out and grabbing this purse before she goes out. How nice that you have this little purse from someone special to you. Great choice for the hunt.
Yeah, it kindda does look like it came from the late 20's or early 30's.
Oh that is so beautiful. What a precious gift!!
Thanks for visiting my blog (TT Meet & Greet).
Lovely beaded purses, truly beautiful and so meaningful!
happy hunt!
Mmmm... that is lovely. I think it's great to dream up little stories of how clothes and accessories were used, what our parents and grandparents and great grandparents got up to when they were young.
Thanks for visiting my blog:)
A beautiful purse. I hope you can use it at some point. I have an old purse of my mother's and have used it for a special occasion. Thanks for visiting my blog!
Wow! You just MUST wear it sometime - on a masquarade or birthday - together with clothes from back then! THAT would be something!
Ha en dejlig uge!
((Knus))
What a great vintage bag. I hope you get to use it on an evening out sometime. Right up my alley (as far as handbags go).
Happy hunting
Such a beautiful vintage bag! I was doing some internet research on it and it seems to be from the the early 20's and what they called a Micro Beaded Balloon Bag. Check out this web site, there's one purse of similar shape to yours!

Thanks so much for visiting me:-) Hugs xox
What a lovely gift for your grandmother to pass down to you!! Grandmothers are so very special - Both of mine were the best of the best to me :) Take care and happy rest of the weekend
What a wonderful item for the hunt and for antique. When you mentioned where it came from I could not help but think something but did not want to mention it now relaly knowing you and then someone did. That would fit in so well with my image of the roaring 20's with the speakeasies and the flappers. That was just a very flashy thing. Very cool. Now if only it could talk.
Beautiful purse! It must be well made, because it doesn't appear to have lost many beads throughout the years.
Very nice vintage bag! Great for this week's theme.
Have a great weekend!
Great purse! Do you ever use it? It is stunning!

Oh I love it! It deffinetly reminds me of the 20's!
Yeah definitely looks like something from the 20's or 30's...
